Map of Southwest Groundwater Treatment Project Pipelines
Treated Water Pipeline
The treated water pipeline will take drinking water from the treatment plant and pipe it to Jordan Valley's distribution system. This pipeline is part of a UDOT road reconstruction project on 7800 South. For more information on that project, click on the link below.

Feedwater Pipelines
The feedwater pipelines have been constructed in 1300 West and 2700 West.
These pipelines will feed water from the wells to the new treatment plant at
8215 S 1300 W.
Byproduct Disposal
Reverse osmosis byproduct is a concentration of minerals removed from contaminated water through the treatment process. After reviewing byproduct water discharge options, the stakeholder forum came up with two disposal options:
- Kennecott’s tailings impoundment in Magna
- South arm of the Great Salt Lake
The main concern with discharge water is selenium, a naturally occurring trace metal.
View the map below to see the byproduct pipeline alignment. Refer to the water quality section of the website for more information about byproduct contaminant levels.
